W1: Simulation of ambient environment actions in APT
Click here to download the Workshop1 Pamphlets Any accelerated pavement test requires that ambient environment actions be simulated adequately. Nonetheless, the meaning of “ambient environment actions” varies from one APT program to another—depending in part on the country or region’s climate—and from one test to another—subject to the pavement/material types used in the testing and the test goals. Consequently, a large collection of ambient environment techniques (/goals) have been used to date. The aim of this workshop is 1) to summarize all these techniques and 2) to highlight the relevance and role of ambient environment simulation in APT. |
W2: APT Program Data for Efficient Present & Future Use
Click here to download the Workshop 2 Pamphlets This workshop was focus on methods of managing the large quantities of data obtained from an APT program, the processes and procedures for validating and reducing the data to manageable quantities for analysis, and linking the data to associated laboratory and field tests. It was also discuss tying together the entire program’s data to advance pavement engineering beyond simple performance evaluation and product validation, such as for calibration of mechanistic-empirical design methods. |
